The cache in any web browser stores data such as images, scripts, videos, and other similar parts of the websites to improve its loading speed and enhance your browsing experience, the next time you visit the same website. Though, clearing the cache on Firefox and other browsers becomes important to troubleshoot problems with browser’s overall loading speed, or similar issues.

Delete Mozilla Firefox Cache

Follow the steps below to manually clear the browser cache anytime you encounter any browsing issue or otherwise:

• Open Mozilla Firefox browser on your computer.
• Click on the Menu button (indicated as three horizontal lines) at the top right corner.
• Select Options from the list that opens.

• Then, locate and choose Privacy & Security from the left-side panel.

• Scroll down until you see Cookies and Site Data. Click on Clear Data.

• You’ll get a dialog box prompt, check-mark Cached Web Content and click.

Automatically Clear The Firefox Cache

Well, as we already explained, you can tweak Firefox settings to automatically clear cache as soon as you close Firefox browser. To automate the process, follow these steps:

• Open Mozilla Firefox browser app on your computer.
• Click on the Menu button and go to Options.
• Under Privacy & Security tab, locate History
• You’ll see an option that says ‘Firefox will’ with a drop-down menu box. Choose Use custom settings for history.

• When you choose custom settings from the drop down, you will see a list of options with adjacent checkboxes. Check mark the checkbox ahead to Clear history when Firefox closes.
• Click on Settings, located beside the ‘clear history when Firefox closes’ section.

• In the settings menu, check mark the box beside Cache, and click.

• Close Firefox browser, and your settings will be saved.

Bonus Tip: Clear Firefox Cache Using Library Section

Apart from the ways explained above, there is one more way to delete Firefox cache i.e. using Mozilla Firefox Library. Here’s what you need to do:

• Open Firefox app on your computer.
• Go to the Library section from the Firefox Menu (three horizontal lines icon) at the top-right corner, and click on History.

• Click on Clear Recent History.

• On the next screen, next to Time range to clear, choose Everything from the drop-down menu. Next, checkmark everything along with Cache and click OK.

It will delete everything and the action cannot be undone. This is also a warning given by the browser itself (shown with an attention sign in the image above). The Firefox cache is now deleted.

There are many steps involved when you want to modify the windows 10 taskbar. Windows 10 has given us lots of options to personalize the computer. One such option is to change the taskbar color and task transparency. By doing this, we can change the appearance of the computer as per our wish. 

1. Use system settings to turn on transparency

Steps to turn on transparency from system settings:

• Right-click on space on the desktop and choose “Personalization”

• Choose the “Colors” tab and then scroll down to the option “Transparency effects” turn it on. It will enable transparency effects on your computer.

2. Tweak transparency by using the registry editor

Steps to change transparency by using the registry editor: –

• In space right click and select New> DWORD (32-bit)

• Name the new value UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency

• Now right click on value just created and click on Modify

• Change the value from 0 to 1 and click Ok

• Now refresh transparency settings by right-clicking on the desktop and select Personalization> Color> Transparency effects. Then switch off the transparency and again turn it on. You will be now able to see the new changes made by Registry tweak.

3. Change transparency by using third party apps

Classic Shell is the best third-party tool to personalize a taskbar.

• Download, install and run Classic Shell

• Once it is installed, then open it and select Windows 10 Settings tab from the header menu
• Enable Customize Taskbar option and choose Transparent
• Adjust Taskbar Opacity and click OK

4. Use TranslucentTB from Microsoft store to make the taskbar transparent

This tool is available from the Microsoft store and it helps change the transparency of the taskbar.

• Launch Microsoft Store by pressing Windows + S key and then type store in it.
  

• In Microsoft store search bar, type TranslucentTB and click Get > Install> Launch
• Once launched choose the transparency settings as per your wish.

All the above methods will change the taskbar transparency therefore you can choose any of them.

How to change the taskbar colors in Windows 10?

• Right-click on Desktop and choose Personalization

• Click Colors

• Click Choose to colors > Custom. This will instantly change the taskbar color

• Click Choose your default Window mode> Dark

• Click Custom color and use a color picker to select the color of your choice and click Done

• Check Start, taskbar, and action center

Now you can see that  the taskbar will be in the custom color of your choice.

Run Antivirus Software

Defragment the Hard Drive

In Windows 10, the operating system runs disk defragmentation when it senses it is required. However, as we’re doing a thorough clean of your computer, it would be remiss not to run it manually.

Refresh Your Startup List

Any seasoned Windows user knows that the operating system lags way behind macOS, Chrome OS, and Linux when it comes to boot times. Typically, the problem is caused by the number of programs Windows tries to launch when it first starts. The majority of them are unnecessary.

 

To clean your startup list, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Task Manager. On the new window, click More Details, then choose the Startup tab at the top of the screen.

Clean the AppData Folder

When you uninstall an app, you’ll often find remnants of its former presence dotted around your machine. One of the most common locations is the AppData folder.

By default, the folder is hidden. You can find it at C:\Users\[Username]\AppData or by typing %AppData% into Windows search.

Remove Old Program Files

The other place you’ll often find trace elements of old apps’ files is in the Program Files folders.

On most machines, there are two Program Files folders. You can find them at C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86).

As with the AppData folder, work through the contents of each folder carefully and delete any files and folders that are no longer in use.

Most of the times, it works. When your problem is said to be resolved by Windows Update Troubleshooter, close it and then reboot your computer to check the issue again.

Clear Updates Download Folder

If your download is getting stuck during download or refuses to install, it might be that something went wrong with the file itself. Clearing the folder where all of the update files are stored will force Windows Update to download afresh, which can help resolve any problems.

 First, press Windows key + R to open Run.      Input C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and click OK to launch to the folder. Now you need to delete everything within the folder, but do not delete the folder itself. To do so, press CTRL + A to select everything and then press Delete to remove the files.

Disable Your Anti-virus

Normally, your anti-virus software shouldn’t interfere with the update process, but there have been reports that temporarily disabling it can solve problems. Each anti-virus will have its own method of disabling it, so load it up and turn it off. If you can’t see where to do this, explore the Settings or Options area. Alternatively, right-click the icon in your system tray and you may find the option to disable it there.

Disconnect Drives and VPNs

Try to disconnect all the DVD drive and SD card reader from your computer. Safely remove them by disabling them. Also, disable the VPN services if you receive errors like 0x80200056 and 0x800F0922.

Use the Media Creation Tool

If none of the above methods have worked, you should give Media Creation Tool a try. Media Creation Tool will create an installation file of Windows 10 and will try to upgrade by using a different method. Before you do this, it advised that you create a backup of all the critical files and folders. Follow the steps given below to use the Media Creation Tool. Step 1: Go to Microsoft’s ‘Get Windows 10′ page. Step 2: Click on “Download tool now’ tab. Step 3: Save the file and then open it. Step 4: Accept the terms and conditions. Step 5: Click on ‘Upgrade this PC now’ and then click on ‘Next’. Step 6: Click on ‘Install’.
